Red joins the Continental Marines after drinking too many beers at Tun Tavern (considered the first recruiting station for the newly formed Marines). With a spiffy new uniform to help them look majestic, and some time to get some "seapaws" , Red is poised to spew some thunder at those limeys with his musket.
On November 10th, 1775 the Second Continental Congress approved the formation of two battalions of Marines to protect navy ships and act as landing parties for the navy. Modern USMC tradition holds that some of the first Marines were recruited at "Tun Tavern" located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
