Watched this doco 2 times. I clearly see the content difference between the normal and Western point of view about Africa (not first time but at this time I confirm my hypothesis) . I watched a story of the same city, Nouakchott shot in 1 or 2 years apart. The white guy showed a very poor town where people are struggling to survive. Here I see a thriving city with considerable modern experience and charm. Guys, we are not that poor. I will never understand why anything connected to Africa is made to look poor and hopeless. Keep it up Mauritania, you are doing so good.
Yes! Excellent point. Maybe because 80% of the population is hungry ... Look at the GDP of these regions of the world before you want to put a positive vision in it. This is not a representation! It is the reality. Mauritania is one of the least visited countries in Africa. Why? 1.) Outside of Africa it’s questionable that people know it even exist. 2.) If people do know of it, they know it through media stories of modern day slavery 3.) underdevelopment & poor infrastructure 4.) Many western countries label it as an unsafe destination. 5.) language. Unless you speak one of the national languages, Hassaniya, Soninke, Pulaar, Wolof ect or possible French, it may be quite challenging for you to visit. Thank you so much for this. I spent two years living in Nouakchott and also traveled to many other parts of the country, including Terjit and Chinguetti. I even have a picture in Chinguetti of the same man, a librarian of the manuscripts, who was there when I met him in 2003. All in all, and excellent video. I am happy to have discovered it.

I am a 74yo Australian and am so pleased I found your video. I had just finished a vid by an American on Ethiopia and Shawel(?) area. I was so bored I spent more time reading the comments and found he had so much wrong. Of course, he was looking through his ill-informed western eyes, so natch. Half the vid was about a US poet who lived there for a time. ZZZZZZ. 😂 But your vid was amazing and covered so much area and information, although I agree with comment that said you didn’t show any poor areas for balance. Very funny that you got bored on the train, but the scenery brought back memories of my journey to far S.E. of Morocco which I had loved. It’s so refreshing to watch vid on African country by an African, not by an outsider. And to be in their homes and see the food prepared, and listen to the people from different areas just talk, not be interviewed. Your headings, editing and, especially, your subtitles were spot on. As your followers have said, keep up the good work. I have subscribed and hope to see many more of your travels.
Bro you haven't visited the disadvantaged neighborhoods where most of black populations live, including your gambian brothers, and which show the other side of Mauritania. This video just shows the tourist aspects and more the moorish culture.

Nothing strange. It's a wonderful country. I like it very much. Much love from NW India 🇮🇳
Am a new subscriber and loved all the information you given in this video...what I loved the most was the Women Divorced Market...change is coming...10 years ago I joined to stop the force feeding of little girls to become fat...it's a crime against children to do that...peace, love and light from far away in Puerto Rico USA
Amazing video and lots of details with respect rules of the country. (Masha Allah) . Well done and keep going. May Allah bless you.
Thanks a lot
First to comment let's support our gambian travelling brother pin this comment gano

@@frenatfarms ikr 😂😂😂😂
Thank you so much for this. I spent two years living in Nouakchott and also traveled to many other parts of the country, including Terjit and Chinguetti. I even have a picture in Chinguetti of the same man, a librarian of the manuscripts, who was there when I met him in 2003.
All in all, and excellent video. I am happy to have discovered it.
Mashallah 🙏 bro you are doing a great job ❤❤
Thanks a ton
Wow!! So this is Africa. Your video is a great supplement to Zeinab Badawi's series. I actually prefer yours for sharing with my high school students.
10 minutes into the video I saw myself smiling like a fool😂😂 even Gano wanted to smile more but the steeze was like bro we can't do that here😅. Many thanks bro this was a master piece.
Glad you enjoyed😆
Thank you so much! Welcome aboard
Amazing work bro
شكرا لهذه الجميلة مرحب بك دائما❤
Bro you haven't visited the disadvantaged neighborhoods where most of black populations live, including your gambian brothers, and which show the other side of Mauritania. This video just shows the tourist aspects and more the moorish culture.
@@Frkc956 the truth is majority of the black Africans in Mauritania are oppressed many face oppression from a small minority non-Black people. It’s a damn shame.
Meaning many of the Blacks there have become like house slaves; mentally enslaved.
It’s not every day negativity. Sometimes uplifting content is good. You can go watch all the other content showing disadvantaged neighbourhoods. That content is everywhere
sweetie Mauritania is amazigh not bantu.. relax we are AFROASIATIC e1b1b we have no relation to you
No relation is a big stretch lol
@@JimmyP-k9b outside of slavery and invasions from bantus? NO stop erasing our brown ethnic groups for your black supremacy
Great video, glad I found this channel! I didn't know anything about the divorce customs, the various Mauritanian ethic groups, the Berber migration, etc.
Usually only watch these videos partially but thoroughly enjoyed yours!!! Allahumabarik
Glad you like it!
Also in Algeria ATMs don’t accept international cards, and mostly, people deal in cash rather than cards in general, so you seldom find a shop accepts cards, yet the country is truly lovely and for sure to give more and more visits along other African countries
🇩🇿 ❤
That country is minority ruled. BLACKS WHO FORM THE MAJORITY ARE MARGINALIZED AND UNTIL RECENTLY, ENSLAVED! It's South Africa before apartheid left.
That's result of Islam
Hmmmmmm......that's the global blue print and trend. Don't know where it came from, what the root of it is. It's sick and twisted and cruel but Blk people haven't figured out how to address it and resolve it so it continues and it will continue possibly till melanated or heavily melanated people are extinct. All organic humans will eventually be extinct of all colors on the spectrum humans are dumb downed controlled manipulated weakened programmed conditioned and dna and genetics re-engineered and tinkered and tampered with.😮
South Africa was so much better during the apartheid than it is now lol.
This is so interesting and beautiful. My favorite part was the train ride views and good company. Remember when Bald and Bankrupt rode the train w/ that Belorussian girl that used to travel with him? That was hilarious too😂 that train must bring out everyone’s inner comedian.
Mauritania was beyond expectations. It is very beautiful. We want more countries in North Africa and Arab countries in general. Thank you.❤😊
Mauritania in Africa not Arabia. Mauritania is a African country not Arab.
It actually in west Africa
What you want is shit africa is africa not arabia 😂
Loved your video! Mauritania is somewhere I hope I can travel to one day! Your positive attitude and openness to this country was really inspiring and amazing to see!
No no dont travel there, not good
